Swarthmore College is the cultural and community center of Swarthmore, a small tree-lined community in Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia.
This morning, the town—and campus—are buzzing with excitement as Digital Media Academy’s tech camps at Swarthmore get started today.
Swarthmore joins a list of other great Northeastern campuses like George Washington University and Drexel on DMA’s summer schedule.
The air is electric. Arriving campers are eager to start creating technology in some of the new tech camps at Swarthmore College, like the Digital Beats & Music Production or Cartoon & Animation course.
Complete Camp Experience
Like all DMA locations, in addition to a high-tech learning experience inside the classroom here at Swarthmore, students also get the summer-camp experience outside the classroom.
For example, during break this afternoon, campers will get a chance to make new friends while enjoying one of many outdoor activities, like Frisbee.
For teens considering the campus as a four-year school, taking in the beautiful campus as an overnight camper is the way to go. With opportunities for tours of downtown Swarthmore (with stops at shops, coffee houses and eateries), the Springfield Mall, movies and more, it’s all here at Swarthmore!
Check-in gives campers an opportunity to meet their instructors and get stoked about the fun week ahead. “DMA is definitely the best job ever,” says one instructor. “The kids are awesome and the staff is amazing.”
