Produce and Direct Your Own Video Productions and Films

Take a deep dive into the filmmaking process from pre to post production over two weeks of learning using premium Canon cameras and Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Each week concludes with a screening event where your film is showcased to the class, staff and parents.

Week 1, Intro to Filmmaking & Video Production with Premiere: The course begins with basic principles of short narrative filmmaking: screenplay structure, camera functionality and operation, and role descriptions. Students learn how to work as a crew, how to storyboard, how to direct, and how to edit. Finally, students upload each of their projects to their own YouTube Channel. Students will use the same software as the professionals: Adobe Premiere Pro.

Week 2, Filmmaking & Visual Effects with After Effects: During the second week, students learn about title design and basic VFX with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, before launching into their short film project. Film projects can be in a range of genres including narrative, music video, documentary etc. Students will use the same software used by the professionals: Adobe After Effects.

Receive up to 12 months of Adobe Creative Cloud by registering today ($600 Value). Students in this course will also receive a Take-Home Slik U8000 Tripod.

About Filmmaking Courses

Our filmmaking courses allow teens to team up with like-minded peers to express their own voice and creativity through film. Go beyond basic filmmaking techniques to discover how to add cinematic nuance and excitement to films through visual and audio effects, as well as dramatic camera angles. Our Filmmaking Academy is excellent for students interested in pursuing a career in filmmaking or looking to gain expert tips and mentorship. No. No prior artistic knowledge or animation experience is required. This is an introductory course.

Camp Upgrades

Lunch Plan

Make things easy and get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $95/week at select locations.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing starts at $695/week where available.

Extended Day

Our flexible Extended Day option allows families to pick-up students as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday at all locations.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay starts at $380/weekend at select locations.
